John 19:1

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

"I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting."

"And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again."

"Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:"

"And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed."
